Our Selection Process
At Urega, we have designed our application process to be clear, straightforward, and focused on understanding your unique story. Our goal is to identify extraordinary students who demonstrate courage, empathy, humility, ambition, maturity, and passion. Here's what you can expect during our selection process:
The Application
Prepare and submit your application before the deadline. For 2025, our deadline is on the 16th of June.
What to expect:
- Complete the online application form with your personal information
- Upload your academic transcripts or report cards
- Write a compelling personal essay following our prompt
- Provide contact information for your recommender
- Review all information carefully before submission
Interview Invitation
You may receive an invitation to interview a few weeks after our deadline.
What to expect:
- Selected candidates will be invited via email for an interview
- Interviews may be conducted in person or virtually
- Prepare to discuss your application, academic goals, and personal journey
- Be authentic and showcase the qualities we look for in Urega Scholars
- Expect to hear from us by early July if selected for an interview
Final Decision
A few weeks after your interview, you will receive our decision.
What to expect:
- All decisions will be communicated by email
- Successful candidates will receive scholarship offer details
- Scholarship terms and conditions will be provided
- You'll have time to review and accept the scholarship offer
- Final decisions are typically sent by late July
Warm Welcome
If you accept our Scholarship offer, you will become an Urega Scholar!
What to expect:
- Attend our welcome orientation (either in-person or virtual)
- Connect with current and former Urega Scholars
- Receive guidance on accessing scholarship benefits
- Learn about our ongoing support services during your academic journey
- Begin your exciting journey as part of the Urega Scholars community
